A couple of weeks ago I met up with some really talented wedding and portrait photographers both from the [b] school and the Randall Network. A chance to converse about both the art of photography and the business of photography, for an hour at least. Then it was a trip to a local Chip shop ( well you can’t not eat fish and chips in Blackpool – that would be rude ) before settling into a good ‘ol pub for more photography and business….and beer, yes there was beer involved as well.
So here are a few pictures taken in the early evening rain.
First up is Mark Lenik an amazing Videographer who recorded the day. Here he is doing his thing with a Cannon 5D Mark II.
Then disaster – the model bailed on us. This is what happens to a group of photographers with no-one to point their cameras at.

Chaos ruled til Stewart opened his suitcase of off camera flash goodies and order was restored step forward modelling volunteers….
Olivia Brabbs our first stand in model, everyone wanted me to do it but I was helping with the flash….no I was..honest !

Rebecca Honeywell also avoided modeling duties by becoming a “Voice activated Lightstand” – very important job.
Susie Lawrence then put in a stellar performance as model
This image is straight from Barnaby’s blog, Barnaby, modelling expertly here, is one third of the trio that makes up 3b media. The other two are Rob Booker and Phil Barber.

Team Lawson captured some amazing images this one shows a group of photographers blending in like Ninjas…

The organisers of the day were Stewart Randall ( the godfather ) and Hayley Ruth also present were James Pearson, Neil Matthews,Chris Mackenzie. If I missed anyone from the roll call please forgive me !
Last but by no means least here is the video Mark Lenik created. Shot entirley on his Canon 5D Mark II ( oddly though using a Nikon f1.4 50mm prime lens )

It was really great to finally meet you Mark! Blackpool was great fun and really inspiring. Great photos, I love the shot of all of us pointing out cameras randomly at each other – very funny!
I love the last shot the most. The photographers with Central Pier in the background. I do like images that arent too staged. Although I also love the more artistic images.
